First Blog Post...It's about to get EXCITING!
Hello World! It is with great excitement that I'm writing the very first ever blog post for Kitty Meow: A Creative Boutique. Let me tell you...it's been a LONG time coming. Kitty Meow has gone through so many changes within the past year, and I'm finally starting to check some big items off my never ending to do list. 1. Personal Website. 2. Blog. Check! Check!
Let me quickly give a brief summary of how we got here...
2010 – Kitty Meow opened its Etsy shop with one lonely vintage owl, baby shower invite for sale. It was a slow start, but with the help of a few confidence boosting clients, and doing invites for friends and family, business started to pick up. At this point I was still working a “real job” as a graphic designer for an advertising company.
2013 – Tired of looking at the same blah Kitty Meow logo, I decided to jazz it up and introduce a new logo. It was cute and fun, totally my personality at the time. This was the year I decided to quit my day job and take Kitty Meow full throttle. Still making huge mistakes and learning along the way.
2016 – Within this past year I’ve taken a lot of risks, made lots of investments in the company (good and bad), and learned A LOT. I decided it was time for yet another change, but needed an objective eye this time. I hired the lovely branding guru, Lauren Hooker of Elle & Co., to rebrand everything Kitty Meow She gave me a brand new logo, and FINALLY…a blog and website. With the help of my lovely virtual assistant, Katie, I’m getting most of the items I sell on Etsy on to my personal Kitty Meow site.
It’s pretty obvious that as I’ve grown and evolved as a woman, the Kitty Meow brand has done the same. I’m now at a place in my life and my Kitty Meow career, where I know who I am and where I want to be. While I’ll always be evolving as a designer and goals will change direction, I’m confident the new look and feel of Kitty Meow is here to stay.
So now that you know how I got here, I imagine you're dying to know what's in store for the future and the blog. My wonderful parents always taught me "sharing is caring", and I plan to do just that with all of you. On "The Adventures of Kitty Meow" I'll be sharing behind the scenes processes, design freebies, and a little bit about who I am as a person. The newest member of the Kitty Meow tribe, Ava James, #avakittenmeow, will also be a featured guest blogger. While she's only 6 months old this little lady has a lot of exciting things to say! Kitten Meow will be sharing things like her Top 10 Personalized Gift Items, how mommy does those ribbon monthly pics, and her personal stationery collection, in her weekly "Crib Talks with Kitten Meow". You won't want to miss it!
To all of those who have been on this crazy adventure with me, and supported me along the way, I am BEYOND grateful. I consider myself so lucky to be able to wake up every morning doing work that I truly love, working with lovely people. My one woman shop takes a village, and I'm not in this alone. I hope you are all just as excited as I am to see where this adventure goes. Always open to feedback on what you want to see more of, or even less of!
